My Doll and I Learn About the 1930s!

Saturday, November 4, 2023   10:00 AM - Noon

International Quilt Museum
1523 North 33 St.
Lincoln, NE 68583

The workshop is related to the exhibition “A New Deal for Quilts.” It will feature the American Girl dolls Kit and her best friend Ruthie from 1934. We'll learn about the Great Depression, giving, and resourcefulness. Activities and snacks from the period will be included in this workshop for elementary-aged children.

The students will stitch and decorate faux leather messenger bags for their doll to hold a mini-composition book and pencil (like the young writer in the story). The children are encouraged to bring their favorite doll to the workshop.
